Seeking experienced and motivated disability support worker to join a close knit supported accommodation team.
I am currently recruiting for one casual role (6 month probation period- Opportunities to then become PPT after probation period)
House is located in Turramurra
About you:
You have proven experience working within the disability sector and are ready to put your skills and experience in to action.
You are reliable, adaptable, able to work well following instructions and also very confident working independently and taking charge of the day.
You are not eaisly phased or rattled and you can always find the positives in a situation.
You are able to draw on your professional and life experiences to make appropriate and logical decisions.
You create, plan and take action to create opportunities and experiences for your clients.
You have experience working with challenging, aggressive and self harming behaviours. You also have experience in managing and deescalating both verbal and phsyical aggression.
You are confident in managing both physical and verbal aggression with the guidance of a behaviour support plan.
You have have experience with supporting individuals with an intellectual disability and autism. Epilepsy experience is desirable but not essential.
You are an active worker who enjoys being outdoors, participating within the community and overall being productive on shift. Sitting down and watching TV is the last thing you want to do!
This is a job that would suit someone who is already employed and has regular availabilities and flexibility to pick up shifts on late notice.
About us:
We are a supported accommodation house, based in Turramurra that is participant owned and driven.
This residence in Turramurra is home to a sibling duo, one female(30) and male (23).
Both participants are high support (No manual handling) and require 1:1 support at all times.
What a typical day would look like for you at work:
Supporting our participants to have their medication, food preparation, domestic duties, personal care/grooming and tasks such as cleaning,washing,mopping etc, personal care support (no manual handling) and community access (museums, parks, national parks, public transport, swimming, mini golf, therapy appointments, bowling, bushwalks etc)
Our participants are very physically active and thrive when their days are energetic, energetic and meaningful.

Shifts typically are rostered as:
Mornings Monday to Sunday
6am to 4pm
Or
6am to 3pm
Afternoons Monday to Sunday
4pm to 10pm
Or
3pm to 10pm sleepover (Finishing 6am the following morning)
Currently I am seeking to recruit one casual staff member to work a regular and ongoing shift EVERY Friday, 4pm to 10pm sleepover. To be considered for this role you must be available for this regular shift in addition to availability to pick up other shifts across various days/times
Remuneration: SCHADS Casual 2.2.
Weekday base rate is $45 Per hour + additional penalties available such afternoon rate and weekends.
Requirements
- First aid certificate
- NDIS workers check number
- Drivers license (C2 accepted)
- PROVEN experience and confidence working with challenging behaviours that include physical and verbal aggression
