Experienced Embroiderer – Full-Time

Totally Workwear Gilles Plains is looking for an experienced commercial embroiderer to manage our in-house embroidery production.

This is a hands on and largely autonomous position operating an eight head Barudan embroidery machine. You will be responsible for managing embroidery jobs from preparation through to completion, while maintaining the quality and turnaround times expected by our business customers.

You will work independently within the embroidery area but will also be an important part of our broader retail, production and customer service team.

About the role

Your responsibilities will include:

- Operating an eight head Barudan commercial embroidery machine

- Preparing, setting up and completing embroidery production runs

- Loading approved embroidery files and making minor production adjustments where required

- Selecting threads, backing and frames appropriate for different garments

- Hooping and positioning garments accurately

- Checking artwork, garment placement and job instructions before production

- Monitoring embroidery quality throughout each production run

- Identifying and resolving routine machine or production issues

- Trimming, finishing, folding and preparing completed garments

- Maintaining the embroidery machine and keeping the production area clean and organised

- Using our computer systems to access job information and update production progress

- Communicating with the sales and customer service team regarding job requirements, issues and completion dates

Digitising embroidery designs is not a requirement of the position.

About you





To be successful, you will need:

- Previous experience operating commercial multi-head embroidery machinery

- The ability to work confidently and independently

- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work

- Experience hooping and embroidering a range of garments, including workwear, polos, jackets and caps

- An understanding of garment placement, thread selection, backing and embroidery quality control

- Basic computer literacy

- A reliable, practical and team focused approach

Experience operating Barudan machinery is highly regarded.

Experience using Wilcom software to open, review, organise or prepare existing embroidery files would also be an advantage. Digitising experience is not required.
