ABOUT THIS ROLE

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly capableOperations Managerto lead ourwaste council collections team on the Gold Coast.

We’re looking for a strong people leader to support our operations in the area, drive performance, culture, and continuous improvement. This is an excellent career development opportunity with a fast-growing, international business. This role will report to the Contract Manager and work across 2 sites - Nerang & Stapylton.

You’ll bring urgency, confidence, and a customer-first mindset. You’ll understand the bigger picture, set clear objectives and guide the team to deliver outstanding results every day.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead the operations management team for the domestic waste collections in the region
- The ability to plan for growth, engage with the team and see it through
- Deliver the overall operations strategy and drive ongoing improvement initiatives




- Drive a high-level safety, compliance and customer service culture
- Support and motivate a team of 40+ employees - across 2 sites
- Work well with other leaders within the business including workshop, administration and corporate head office
- Ensure compliance with all policies, legal and regulatory requirements
- Remain actively involved in the day-to-day operations and lead by example

ABOUT YOU

- Fantastic at employee engagement! You are a people leader by nature, and enjoy interacting with your team
- The ability to prioritise, think laterally and make things happen
- Analytical and highly organised
- Previous leadership experience within transport, logistics or a similar operational environment
- Hold a current HR licence, (HC or MC highly regarded) plus minimum of 12 months driving experience
- Happy to roll your sleeves up and spend time out on site with the team
- Be an approachable, authentic, supportive and empathetic leader
- Continuous improvement focused; with the ability to deliver short and long term
- KPI focused with the ability to perform under pressure
