Join DuPont Water Solutions at our South Windsor manufacturing site as an Electrical Engineer.
In this role, you will ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of electrical and automation systems while delivering continuous improvement and capital projects across the plant. You will play a key role in maintaining safe operations, enhancing system performance, and supporting long-term site reliability.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and automation issues to improve equipment uptime and minimize production impact.
- Lead and implement system improvements that enhance safety, quality, yield, and reliability.
- Ensure all modifications follow Management of Change (MOC) processes, including risk assessment, testing, and documentation.
- Deliver electrical and automation components of capital projects, including design, vendor coordination, commissioning, and handover.
- Maintain and improve control system reliability practices such as backups, version control, and system recovery.
- Support site standards and best practices, including electrical design standards, HMI consistency, and naming conventions.
- Administer and improve data historian systems to ensure high-quality data for reporting and analysis.
- Maintain control system cybersecurity practices in alignment with site and IT requirements.
- Act as the site Electrical Safety Professional (ESP), leading compliance with DuPont and regulatory safety standards.
- Lead electrical risk assessments, investigations, and safety improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain electrical designs,
including power distribution, wiring schematics, and control architectures.
- Design and validate machine safety systems, including interlocks, emergency stops, and safety PLC systems.
What Helps You Succeed in This Role
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting electrical or automation systems in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with PLC/HMI systems (e.g., Rockwell CompactLogix, FactoryTalk or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of industrial networks (e.g., Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet).
- Knowledge of instrumentation and process control, including field device troubleshooting.
- Experience with electrical systems such as MCCs, drives/VSDs, and industrial equipment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across operations, maintenance, and external partners.
Preferred
- Experience with hazard and risk assessments and Management of Change processes.
- Exposure to functional specifications, vendor or integrator management, and commissioning (FAT/SAT).
- Experience working with data historians and industrial data systems.
Work Arrangement & Location
- Full time, on-site role based at South Windsor, NSW (Sydney region).
- Occasional out-of-hours support may be required for planned shutdowns, commissioning activities, or urgent fault response.
- Some travel may be required for vendor visits, training, or collaboration with other DuPont sites.
