Job Summary
Production and logistics are often measured by what goes wrong. We want you to create an operation where it doesn’t. You will lead and oversee production control, manage a complex automotive supply chain, and drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and outstanding delivery.
Salary
£75,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

Location
Northampton (commutable locations include Milton Keynes, Leicester, Bedford, Huntingdon, Peterborough, St Neots, Market Harborough, Daventry, Banbury, Brackley, Rugby).
Overview
We have a loyal legacy workforce who need your leadership and guidance. You will drive change in this key Logistics Manager role, leading our automotive logistics operation in Northampton and bringing fresh ideas to a team needing direction and strong leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership and Management – promote a positive working workplace, provide consistent management, lead by example, maintain operational standards, and deliver performance improvement whilst empowering your team.
- Growth – support development within your team and the wider group, resolve concerns beyond their scope, and appropriately escalated to your line manager.
- Translate business improvement objectives for HSE, Quality, Cost and Delivery into detailed improvement goals for the production and logistics department.
- Set improvement targets and motivate your team to achieve them.
- Use daily and weekly performance metrics to identify deviations, develop containment and countermeasures, follow up implementation and any further corrective action.
- QHSE – ensure safe operation of your team, audit compliance with company procedures and take corrective action when needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience ideally from the automotive industry or a transferable fast‑paced volume manufacturing environment such as aerospace, pharmaceutical, food, rail, industrial, fasteners, or technical consumables.
- Work experience in regulated and compliant environments.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and make challenging decisions with accountability.
- Customer‑first attitude to succeed within a global supply chain.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP in a manufacturing environment, with experience managing production planning, MRP, inventory control, customer schedules, logistics flows, and supply‑chain performance.
- Passion for improving processes, raising standards and implementing sustainable improvements that enhance customer service, inventory performance, and operational efficiency.
- A proactive, data‑driven mindset to identify issues, challenge existing practices, and implement effective solutions.
