Assembly Technician - Moonraker Antenna Systems

CBG Systems has over 40 years' experience delivering thermal insulation, acoustic insulation, and passive fire protection solutions across commercial and defence projects in Australia and internationally. We specialise in passive fire protection systems, custom thermal jackets, mobile camouflage systems, and the design and manufacture of Moonraker antennas.

The Role

We're looking for an Assembly Technician to join our Moonraker antenna production team at our Hobart facility. Moonraker antennas are designed and built in Tasmania and supplied to defence and marine customers around the world.

This is a hands-on manufacturing role. You'll assemble antenna units from component level through to finished product, working to engineering drawings and quality documentation. Attention to detail matters here.

Key Responsibilities

- Assemble components into complete antenna units following drawings, work instructions, and build records
- Carry out fitting, fastening, bonding, and sealing tasks to specification
- Perform in-process checks and functional testing, recording results accurately
- Identify and report non-conformances, defects,



or drawing discrepancies
- Maintain accurate build documentation to support quality and traceability requirements
- Keep the work area clean, organised, and compliant with WHS standards
- Support continuous improvement of assembly methods and workstation setup

About You

- Experience in assembly or a similar production environment
- Able to read and work from engineering drawings and written work instructions
- Competent with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
- Careful and consistent, with a genuine focus on quality and detail
- Reliable, safety conscious, and comfortable working both independently and in a small team
- Trade qualification or Certificate III in Engineering, Electronics, or similar is well regarded but not essential
