Job Description
MAKHDOOM HOLDINGS PTY LTD As a Motor Mechanic at Makhdoom Holdings Pty Ltd T/A High St Smash , you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining the mechanical systems of a variety of light motor vehicles.
You will also assist with mechanical repairs required as part of accident-damaged vehicle restoration. The successful applicant will ensure that all vehicles are repaired accurately and returned to customers in a safe and roadworthy condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical and engine faults using diagnostic equipment, scanning tools and appropriate testing procedures.
- Remove and dismantle engines, transmissions, steering assemblies and other mechanical components for inspection and repair.
- Examine mechanical parts to identify wear, damage, defects and required repairs.
- Repair or replace worn, damaged or defective components and reassemble mechanical systems according to manufacturer specifications.
- Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, fluid checks and engine adjustments.
- Inspect and repair mechanical damage resulting from vehicle accidents and collisions.
- Use computerised diagnostic systems to detect faults, analyse vehicle data and determine appropriate repairs.
- Inspect vehicles and determine the work required to meet roadworthiness and safety standards.
- Conduct final testing and road tests after completing repairs where required.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs,
services and replacement parts used.
- Follow workplace health and safety requirements and accepted automotive industry practices.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent automotive qualification.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, servicing and mechanical repair procedures.
- Ability to use automotive tools, diagnostic scanners and workshop equipment effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a workshop team.
