Electrical Compliance Auditor | Supervisor (HA / HV / DG)

Cell Engineering is a leading engineering and consultancyfirm delivering premier compliance, design, and commissioning services acrossthe mining, gas, chemical, food, and port sectors. Due to strategic growth andexpanding market demand across the East Coast, our Brisbane and Mackay branchesare looking to add accredited Hazardous Area (HA), High Voltage (HV), andprofessional Dangerous Goods (DG) Auditors—or high-calibre technicalprofessionals ready to be mentored into these senior-level roles.

The Opportunity

Supported directly by our established Principal auditingteam and project managers, you will either:

- Asan existing Accredited Auditor / AIDGC Consultant Member: Continuebuilding your knowledge base and business acumen as you developaportfolio of clients across a range of legislative regimes to supportCell’s expansion.
- Asan aspiring Auditor: Be developed into a subject matter expert capable ofinspecting, verifying, and certifying complex HA and HV electricalinstallations under the Queensland Electrical Safety Act. For theright candidates, these roles offer a structured pathway to fullQueensland ESO Auditor Accreditation and associate membership with theAustralian Institute of Dangerous Goods Consultants (AIDGC).

Key Responsibilities

- Conductdetailed site inspections of high voltage and hazardous area electricalinstallations to ensure compliance with AS/NZS 3000, the AS/NZS 60079series of standards, and AS 2067.
- Reviewtechnical installation documentation, verification dossiers, engineeringdesigns, and testing records.
- Authorcomprehensive, legally compliant audit reports, interim certificates,



andfinal Certificates of Inspection and Confirmation.
- Manageclient relationships on-site, delivering technical findings and complianceupdates with a consultative, positive, and clear communication style.
- Travelfrequently (typically 2–5 days, occasionally at short notice) to variousasset locations throughout Queensland, New South Wales, and the NorthernTerritory.

Who We Are Looking For

We welcome applications from existing accredited auditors,AIDGC consultants with an electrical background, tertiary-qualified electricalengineers, or senior electrical trade professionals who meet the followingcriteria:

Qualifications & Experience:

- TertiaryPathway: Degree-qualified Engineer eligible for RPEQ registration with aminimum of 5 years of post-graduate experience.
- TradePathway: Trade-qualified Electrical Supervisor with active S1, S2, S3, andG2 competencies and a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Strongpractical background across heavy industries (e.g., mining, gas, marineports, or food manufacturing) with proven installation, testing, andcommissioning knowledge.

Highly Regarded Certificates & Skills (Desirable but notessential):

- ElectricalEquipment for Hazardous Areas (EEHA)
- HVIsolation & Access (HVIA)




- Existingindependent auditing certifications (e.g., SAI Global, Intertek Academy)
- Basicproject management acumen (understanding contracts, purchase orders,variations, and invoicing)
- CurrentRPEQ registration (Electrical)

Personal Attributes & Site Requirements:

- Thoroughknowledge of relevant Australian Standards, electrical regulations, andapplicable legislative regimes (coal mining, electrical safety,electricity supply, petroleum & gas, and WHS).
- Exceptionalwritten communication skills with high proficiency in technical reportwriting.
- Fullycomfortable with site protocols, camp accommodation, and regular Drug& Alcohol testing.
- Proficientwith modern workplace IT systems (MS Office suite; AutoCAD literacy is aplus).
- Musthold a current, full Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Mustbe able to pass and hold a Coal Board Medical Certificate.
- Willingnessand ability to mentor junior engineers on their pathway to becoming futureauditors.
