About this role

We are excited to announce a unique opportunity forthe role of SETS Case Coordinator (Logan Region) - Level 4 (Max-term Part-time contract until 30 June 2027) within the SETS Program.

In this role, you will provide culturally responsive case management and settlement support services to clients from migrant, refugee and humanitarian background, including intake and assessment, case planning, referrals, community engagement, crisis support, advocacy,



stakeholder collaboration to support clients to settle successfully and build independence within the community.

Responsibilities

- Provision of culturally competent case coordination and intake services to individuals (and families) from diverse migrant, refugee and humanitarian backgrounds with low to medium support needs, including psychosocial needs assessment; development of case management plans; information provision; referrals; and life-skills development to build independence.
- Assist clients to develop meaningful social connections with members of their cultural or religious community, and the wider community, as desired.
- Utilise interpreters and supervise and work collaboratively with Bicultural Workers, to provide culturally competent case management.

- Support the development and facilitation of group work projects as well as community development activities. This will include planning, coordination, promotion, and evaluation events and activities that will address community settlement needs, issues and increase settlement life skills of people from migrant and humanitarian backgrounds.
- Refer clients with assessed complex needs to the Specialist and Intensive Support Team for specialised assistance where necessary. Where required, seeking support from Senior Case Manager or Team Leader.
- Provide culturally sensitive emotional support to clients, recognising the impact of past trauma and acculturation challenges.
- Respond promptly to crises and incidents, offering appropriate support to clients and elevate to senior staff for support as needed.





- Seek guidance and support from Team Leader for more complex cases or advice in regard to practice guidance and client support.

- Maintain effective collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure effective planning and delivery of coordinated service to clients.

- Deliver client focused advocacy and liaise with community and government agencies to establish pathways for appropriate service options for clients.

- Maintain comprehensive and timely reporting through Multicultural Australia’s case management system, CS Net; and the Australian Government’s Department Data Exchange system (i.e., DEX);

- Attend, and participate in, team meetings, team building and planning, and professional development activities.

Qualifications and Skills

- Demonstrated attainment of a Diploma in Community Services, Community Development, or related discipline;
- Valid Queensland Driver’s Licence.
- Possession of, or willingness and eligibility to obtain a Blue Card Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 and the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Regulation 2020, and
- National Police Clearance Check
- Experience as a Case Manager supporting newly arrived humanitarian entrants people undergoing settlement processes and/or related and transferrable experience;
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of implementing case management, reporting and group work processes.
- Experience in a similar role in a not-for-profit organisation will be highly regarded.
