Villawood Timber & Building Products is looking for reliable and experienced forklift drivers and pick packers to join our warehouse and timber-yard team.
We have multiple full-time permanent positions available, with rates starting from $30 and extending to $36+ per hour, depending on your experience, capability and level of responsibility.
Experience operating side loaders or handling long-length timber and building products will be highly regarded.
We are looking for people who take pride in their work, operate safely and want secure, long-term employment. Leadership opportunities are also available for experienced candidates who can help coordinate daily warehouse and yard operations.
About the role
This is a hands-on position in a busy timber yard and warehouse. Your responsibilities will include:
- Operating counterbalance forklifts and side loaders safely and efficiently
- Picking and packing customer orders
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Handling long-length timber and building materials
- Checking orders carefully before despatch
- Receiving and putting away incoming stock
- Maintaining an organised warehouse and yard
- Completing basic stock checks
- Following workplace safety procedures
- Assisting customers, drivers and other team members when required
What we’re looking for
You will ideally have:
- A current Australian LF forklift licence
- Previous forklift, warehouse, timber-yard or building-materials experience
- Side loader experience or experience handling long and bulky products
- Confidence loading and unloading trucks safely
- Good attention to detail and a focus on order accuracy
- A strong commitment to workplace safety
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform hands-on work
- Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Full Australian working rights
Experience with timber and building materials is highly regarded but is not essential for the right candidate. Training on our products and equipment can be provided to capable operators.
Leadership opportunities
We are also interested in experienced candidates who can:
- Lead and support a small warehouse team
- Coordinate picking, loading and despatch priorities
- Maintain high safety and housekeeping standards
- Train and guide less‑experienced team members
- Ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on time
- Take responsibility and resolve day-to-day operational issues
Previous leadership experience is preferred for senior positions but is not required for all roles.
Pay and conditions
- $30–$36+ per hour, depending on experience and capability
- Superannuation paid in addition
- Overtime available and paid at applicable rates
- Full time permanent employment (40 hour standard week)
