Join a large enterprise embarking on a significant cloud transformation program through to the end of 2027. This is an prospect to play a leading role in migrating mission-critical applications from on-premises infrastructure to AWS and Azure, working within a highly skilled Cloud team while influencing cloud strategy, best practices and modern engineering standards.
This is a genuine hands-on engineering role offering a 50/50 split between exciting cloud transformation initiatives and operational cloud support (BAU), providing the perfect balance of project work and technical ownership.
About the Role As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering cloud migration initiatives while supporting and enhancing a modern cloud environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading migration of mission-critical applications from on-premises to AWS and Azure.
- Designing and implementing cloud infrastructure using modern engineering practices.
- Supporting Cloud Operations and BAU activities across production environments.
- Driving DevOps and DevSecOps best practices.
- Collaborating with technical teams to improve automation, security and operational efficiency.
- Providing technical guidance and sharing cloud expertise across the team.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong commercial AWS experience (essential).
- Azure experience (highly desirable).
- Proven experience migrating applications from on-premises environments to cloud.
- Solid DevOps and DevSecOps experience.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform highly regarded).
- Exposure to GitHub, HashiCorp tooling or similar technologies is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within technical and business teams.
