SALARY: $132,857 - 152,226 p.a+ Super + Leaseback

Work Type: Permanent Full Time

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Coordinator Development Assessment to lead a high-performing team and play a pivotal role in delivering quality development outcomes for our rapidly evolving Local Government Area. - Tertiary qualifications in town planning or a closely related discipline, with extensive experience in statutory planning and development assessment




- Advanced working knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, environmental planning instruments, development control plans and relevant planning legislation, with demonstrated ability to apply these to complex and high‑impact development matters.
- Demonstrated experience leading, coaching and developing a professional team to deliver timely, consistent, high‑quality and accountable planning outcomes
- Proven ability to exercise sound professional judgement, delegated authority and evidence‑based decision making in relation to complex, sensitive and politically or commercially significant planning matters
- High‑level communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to provide authoritative advice, manage escalated matters and represent Council in forums such as planning panels, working groups and community or industry meetings
- Demonstrated ability to measure, monitor and improve service delivery, systems and procedures to enhance efficiency, consistency, quality and accountability for outcomes
- Experience managing or contributing to Land and Workplace Court of NSW matters, including case preparation, expert input and representation of Council's interests
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- Experience in urban release area / growth area development assessment
