STAR Community Services is an award-winning not-for-profit organisation supporting older people and people with disability to live independently and remain connected to their communities. Since 1996, we have delivered quality aged care, disability, transport and community support services across South East Queensland.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Training & Development Officer to coordinate, deliver and monitor learning and development initiatives across the organisation.

This role is responsible for facilitating staff inductions, delivering internal training, maintaining compliance records, administering the Learning Management System (LMS), and supporting workforce capability and professional development. Working closely with managers, you will help ensure employees and volunteers meet mandatory training requirements while supporting STAR's vision to expand its training and development programs.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver STAR's induction programs and ensure with Business Services all onboarding training requirements are completed before staff commence independent duties.
- Monitor qualification expiry dates and coordinate refresher training and notify the Business Services Lead or Manager of outstanding compliance matters.
- Maintain the Training Matrix and training compliance register in accordance with STAR's procedures and relevant legislation.
- Follow up overdue mandatory training with employees and managers escalating any concerns to the Business Services Lead or Manager.
- Issue reminders and notifications relating to mandatory training,



refresher requirements and expiring qualifications.
- Assist with audit preparation by maintaining accurate training documentation and reports.
- Provide first-level LMS support to employees experiencing access or completion issues and refer complex issues to the Business Services Lead or Manager.
- Collect and collate training feedback and learning outcomes to support evaluation and reporting.
- Assist with the review and update of training plans, resources and materials to align with legislative and STAR's requirements.
- Support workforce capability development by identifying learning needs and assisting with training pathway coordination.
- Maintain qualified relationships with RTOs and external training providers in consultation with the Business Services Lead or Manager.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives relating to training systems, processes and resources
- Provide guidance to employees regarding training requirements, compliance obligations and professional development opportunities, referring complex matters to the Business Services Lead or Manager.
- Coordinate internal and external training activities in line with approved STAR's processes.




- Work with contractors and training providers to support contractual training requirements and report outcomes to the Business Services Lead or Manager.
- Coordinate training bookings, enrolments, venues, equipment and training resources as required.
- Support employees and volunteers to access training and understand mandatory learning requirements.
- Undertake other duties consistent with the position, skills and classification level, as reasonably directed by the Business Services Lead or Manager.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Achieve 95%+ mandatory training compliance.
- Ensure training records are accurate and current.
- Deliver training programs within agreed schedules and timeframes.
- Maintain timely reporting on training, inductions and compliance.
- Support delivery of at least 100 accredited training completions annually under STAR's training partnership arrangements.
- Contribute to the growth and expansion of STAR's training services.

Essential Requirements

- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110, TAE40116 or TAE40122).
- Experience delivering workplace training and inductions.
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Strong administration, reporting and record-keeping skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Current First Aid and CPR qualifications, or willingness to obtain.

Desirable

- Experience in aged care, disability, community services or the not-for-profit sector.
- Experience delivering First Aid, CPR and Manual Handling training.
- Previous experience working with Allens Training.
