The Opportunity
Peabody is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to join our Engineering & Maintenance team at Centurion Mine, located approximately 160 kilometres west of Mackay.
Reporting to the Manager Engineering & Maintenance, you will play a critical role in coordinating and planning maintenance activities across the underground operation. Your focus will be on maximising equipment reliability, improving maintenance efficiency, and supporting safe and productive outcomes across site.
Your Impact
- Develop, issue and maintain maintenance schedules for underground equipment and project activities.
- Coordinate maintenance requirements with production teams to ensure efficient and effective execution of work.
- Convert asset management plans, inspections, defect reports and service findings into executable work orders.
- Manage maintenance backlogs,
identify scheduling constraints and proactively address potential risks.
- Monitor maintenance compliance and performance, providing weekly reporting and recommendations.
- Raise purchase orders for maintenance services and equipment components.
- Manage the work order lifecycle, ensuring accurate SAP data and timely close-out of completed work.
- Liaise with operational leaders, contractors and maintenance personnel to optimise resource allocation.
- Support equipment reliability initiatives and continuous improvement activities across the operation.
- Provide weekly maintenance schedules and supporting documentation to operational stakeholders.
About You
You are a trade-qualified maintenance professional who thrives in a fast-paced mining setting and understands the importance of effective planning in achieving operational success.
- Mechanical or Electrical Trade Qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in a Maintenance Planner or similar role within mining, heavy industry or resources.
- Strong understanding of maintenance planning and execution methodologies.
- Previous experience using SAP or similar maintenance management systems.
- Ability to analyse equipment reliability and maintenance performance trends.
- Sound knowledge of risk management processes, permits, JSEAs and site safety systems.
- Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- High level of computer literacy and attention to detail.
