As their Queensland operations continue to expand, they are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator or Estimating Manager to lead major tenders and play a key role in securing future work.
About the Role
Being a senior leadership role, you will be responsible for leading the preparation of competitive tenders across a diverse portfolio of mining, civil infrastructure and renewable projects. Working closely with operational and executive leadership, you will develop winning strategies, manage estimating resources and ensure submissions are commercially sound and technically robust.
This role offers the opportunity to influence major project awards while contributing to the ongoing development of the estimating function.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of first-principles estimates for major mining and civil construction projects.
- Develop tender strategies, methodologies and construction programmes.
- Review drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
- Coordinate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Identify project risks, opportunities and value engineering initiatives.
- Present tender recommendations to senior leadership.
- Mentor and support junior estimators within the team.
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders.
About You
- Proven experience as a Senior Estimator or Estimating Manager within the mining, civil or resources sectors
- Strong experience preparing first-principles estimates for construction projects
- Excellent commercial acumen and understanding of contract risk
- Experience leading complex tenders valued
- Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
