Position Overview

As a Physiotherapist with Butler Canberra, you will provide evidence-based physiotherapy services to older people receiving services through the Support at Home program and private services. You will undertake comprehensive assessments, develop individualised treatment plans, provide therapeutic interventions, prescribe exercise programs, and recommend assistive technology where appropriate.

The role includes both community-based home visits across Canberra and access to our modern treatment rooms and onsite gym for clinic-based appointments where appropriate.

You will work closely with Care Partners, Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Exercise Physiologists, Support Workers, General Practitioners, and participants' families to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct thorough assessments to identify individual client needs and goals.
- Create and implement personalized physiotherapy treatment plans.
- Administer hands-on therapy, exercises, and techniques to enhance mobility, strength, and balance.
- Educate clients and their families on safe,



effective exercises for continued progress.
- Monitor and document client progress, adjusting plans as needed.
- Collaborate with fellow healthcare professionals for comprehensive care.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation.

Requirements

- Degree in Physiotherapy and valid license to practice in Australia.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Knowledge of the Support at Home program or community aged care services (desirable).
- Previous experience in geriatric physiotherapy or home care is advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassionate and client-centered approach to care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Reliable transportation for in-home visits.
