Sodexo is seeking a skilled Painter to join our team on a casual basis. This is a 2:1 FIFO (Fly-In, Fly-Out) position based in Brisbane, QLD 4000, offering flexibility for those seeking contract work. As a Painter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our facilities through high-quality painting and surface preparation work. This position is integral to ensuring our sites remain in excellent condition whilst delivering professional results that reflect Sodexo's commitment to quality and excellence.

Key responsibilities

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling and priming as required

Apply paint, coatings and finishes to walls, ceilings, structural elements and other surfaces using brushes, rollers or spray equipment

Select appropriate paint types, colours and finishes based on project specifications and client requirements

Maintain all painting equipment and tools in good working order

Adhere to health and safety protocols and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment

Work efficiently to meet project timelines and quality standards

Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding project progress and any issues

Perform surface restoration, touch-ups and remedial painting work as directed

Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including proper disposal of materials

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a Painter or in a similar painting/decorating role

Solid knowledge of surface preparation techniques and paint application methods

Proficiency with painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, spray guns and scaffolding

Familiarity with various paint types, coatings and finishes used in commercial and industrial settings





Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship

Ability to work safely and comply with all health and safety regulations

Physical fitness and capability to perform tasks at heights and in varied conditions

Flexibility to work on a 2:1 FIFO roster

Current driver's licence

Relevant qualifications or certifications in painting or surface preparation (preferred)

Willingness to work independently and as part of a team
