Project Business Analyst
Plant Fleet Services | Local Government
$58.06 per hour + super
Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week
Contract role, ASAP start through to 22 January 2027
The Chance
Osborne Richardson is partnering with a leading Queensland local government Council to source an experienced Project Business Analyst to join the Fleet Branch within the Transport Services Directorate, based at the Marsden Depot.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially-minded analyst to apply their skills across business improvement, data analytics, and financial/capital budget analysis within a large, complex local government fleet operation. You'll play a key role in reviewing and improving fleet business processes, systems and financial reporting, contributing to sustainable, data-driven business outcomes for the Council.
Key selection criteria:
- Plan and facilitate the analysis and documentation of business processes, systems and frameworks to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
- Consult with stakeholders to identify and document business requirements that guide solution design and implementation
- Undertake data extraction, analysis, modelling and reporting using data analytics software, including fuel, telematics (IVMS), asset utilisation, emissions and disposal data
- Reconcile and report on large,
complex capital budgets relating to the Fleet asset capital replacement program
- Contribute to budget preparation, forecasts, service enhancement submissions, quarterly amendments and cost-benefit analysis
- Lead strategic, operational and financial projects and associated change management within the Branch
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing trusted, expert advice
Qualification and experience
- Tertiary qualifications in business, systems or project management, or extensive experience as a Business Analyst
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience applying BA tools and techniques to identify, analyse and document business problems and solutions
- Demonstrated experience with data analytics software, financial software, and building complex spreadsheets/databases
- Knowledge of quality assurance and internal auditing procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a broad range of stakeholders
- A self-motivated, organised approach, with the ability to work autonomously under limited direction and collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience with capital budgeting, asset management or fleet/plant environments highly regarded
