Female* Support Workers Wanted – Holmview & Waterford (Logan Area)
We are seeking reliable and self-motivated female support workers to join our team in the Holmview & Waterford area.
The Applicant must:
- Must be willing to undertake 2-hour shifts at various times of the day between 7am and 7pm - Longer shift may be available on occasion.
- Must be willing to work Weekends (may alternate between Saturday and Sunday or include both on occasion)
- You will need clear spoken English and good communication skills to effectively support a client with a hearing impairment
- Self-motivated, with a strong sense of responsibility and initiative.
- Be comfortable with cats and dogs inside the home, including assistance with a cat litter.
- Be able to multi task and work with multiple clients at one time.
- Be confident in managing some mild behaviours from clients (verbal lashing out, swearing, absconding) - training is provided
This position is a Casual Position starting with 5-10 hours per week with the potential for more hours.
To be successful for this position you must have the following:
- Working With Children Check & NDIS Worker screening check (Yellow and Blue Cards)
- Current Police Check (3 year validity)
- NDIS Orientation Modules (Orientation & Effective Communication)
- Infection Control Training (To be renewed Annually)
- Must hold a valid driver's licence (provisional or above)
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
- Experience preferred but not essential; additional training will be provided both on the job and theory based with a certificate on completion.
Job Role
As a support worker, you will be required to assist both Aged and Disability clients of all ages, in and out of their own homes with daily life activities such as personal care, meal preparation and domestic assistance.
You may be required to provide support with some of the following:
- Personal Care (Showering, bathroom assistance & grooming)
- Medication Monitoring - (We provide training and certificate)
- Domestic Assistance (Light Housework, shopping and light yard work)
- Social Support both in home and in the community
- Transport to and from appointments
Once we have received your application we will assess to ensure you will be a valuable fit for our current clients. We then send out an offer for an interview, interviews are only confirmed if all instructions are followed in that email.
Successful interviews will the be offered a trial shift, this is to meet some of the main clients you would be working with to ensure it is a good fit.
If the meet and greet trial goes well, shifts will be offered that fit into the roster and availability.
