My client is a modern, forward-thinking mid-sized accounting firm who are seeking a Practice Manager. They are growing team who service a diverse client base of SMEs, family groups, high net wealth individuals and international clients and are currently looking to add to its operations team.
Located close to public transport, the firm offers modern open-plan offices, the latest technology and a flexible working environment, including 1-2 days per week working from home.
Reporting directly to the Partner, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the practice while managing two support staff. You will work closely with Partners, accountants and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of the firm while driving operational efficiencies and process improvements.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Maintaining the firm's internal database and ensuring client records remain accurate and up to date
- Managing ATO lodgements including tax returns, BAS and FBT obligations
- Reviewing and assisting with ASIC corporate secretarial compliance, including annual statements, company incorporations, deregistrations and entity changes
- Monitoring outgoing client correspondence to ensure compliance with internal procedures
- Managing WIP and billing processes across the accounting team
- Supporting workflow management, resource planning and capacity reviews
- Identifying and implementing process improvements, new procedures and software initiatives
- Overseeing general office IT requirements and coordinating with external providers where required
- Assisting with the rollout of new projects and operational initiatives
Applicants:
- Previous experience working in a similar role within an accounting firm
- Strong understanding of practice management processes, ASIC compliance and ATO lodgements
- Experience using practice management and accounting software such as MYOB, Xero or similar
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent organisational skills with robust attention to detail
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to build strong relationships with staff, Partners and clients across all levels of the business
