Location: Mareeba, QLD and surrounding areas
Employment Type: Full time

About the Role

Jobs Australia Enterprises is seeking a motivated and compassionate PALM Coordinator to support the delivery of the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme, a vital initiative connecting regional Australian employers with workers from the Pacific and Timor-Leste. The role will also support local General Labour Hire candidates by assisting with suitable host placements.

Based in Mareeba, Queensland, the PALM Coordinator is responsible for supporting the welfare, wellbeing, accommodation, community integration and pastoral care of PALM workers. The role also contributes to ensuring Jobs Australia Enterprises meets its responsibilities as an Approved Employer under the PALM Scheme.

As a key point of contact for workers, host employers and community service providers, you will provide practical and culturally appropriate support, identify and respond to welfare concerns, maintain accurate compliance records and contribute to positive outcomes for workers, employers and the broader community.

This is a varied and people-focused role requiring sound judgement, professionalism, strong relationship-building skills and the ability to respond calmly and effectively in complex or sensitive situations.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct regular worker welfare and wellbeing checks.
- Support workers experiencing personal, social, financial, workplace or family-related challenges.
- Coordinate referrals to healthcare, counselling, financial, community and specialist support services.
- Assist workers to understand their workplace rights, responsibilities, visa conditions and PALM Scheme obligations.
- Identify and appropriately elevate welfare, safeguarding, exploitation and compliance concerns.

- Maintain accurate welfare case notes, reports and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate worker arrivals, departures, transport, appointments and support activities.
- Manage worker accommodation arrangements and conduct routine property inspections.
- Monitor accommodation against PALM Scheme standards and elevate corrective actions.
- Support workers to participate in community, sporting, cultural and social activities.
- Develop positive relationships with host employers, landlords, community organisations, churches, healthcare providers and government agencies.
- Respond to incidents, welfare emergencies and accommodation concerns in accordance with organisational procedures.
- Assist with workplace health and safety, injury management and return-to-work processes.

About You

You are a motivated, compassionate and highly organised professional who can build trusted relationships with workers, employers and community stakeholders.

You will bring:

- Experience supporting culturally diverse individuals and communities.
- Demonstrated experience in employment services, workforce coordination, community services or a related field, ideally within a community development or social impact environment.
- Strong coordination and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to liaise effectively with workers, host employers,

service providers and internal teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, supported by a culturally sensitive and respectful approach.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and respond to changing operational needs.
- Integrity, accountability, discretion and sound professional judgement.
- An understanding of regional employment challenges, labour mobility programs or workforce participation initiatives.
- Fluency in English, with additional language skills highly regarded.
- A current unrestricted driver licence.
- A current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one.
