Trade Assistant with spraypainting experience

What is the role?

There is now an exciting opportunity for a Spray Painter or an experienced Trades Assistant to join our Blast and Paint team on a permanent, full time basis.

The Spray Painter or Trades Assistant will ensure the smooth flow of parts, machinery, and equipment through our yard. This role will be crucial for maintaining efficiency in the processes of preparing parts and equipment for blast and paint.

The Spray Painter or Trades Assistant will assist the paint team with tasks such as preparation, cleaning, taping and painting to ensure the timely delivery of parts in full (DIFOT). Measuring Surface profile and dry film thickness with digital gauges; recording batch numbers and dates/times of painting activity. Booth loading & unloading, staging of items to be painted. Paint mix-up & application with a wide variety of industrial paint systems to exacting specifications. Booth maintenance procedures including filter changes and stripping and application of sacrificial booth linings.

The ideal candidate may also possess:

- 1. Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application or relevant qualification

- Possession of a current QLD ‘C’ Class Open Driver’s Licence
- Possession of or willing to obtain:
- Confined Spaces Ticket
- Elevated Work Platform Ticket
- Rigging and Lifting Ticket
- Working at Heights
