About this Opportunity
Join a welcoming and supportive Facilities and Services team at Loreto College Coorparoo and play a hands‑on role in maintaining the beautiful grounds that our students, staff and visitors enjoy every day. This part‑time opportunity will suit someone who takes pride in creating and caring for attractive outdoor spaces, particularly rose gardens, while contributing to the presentation, safety and enjoyment of the College environment.
This position is remunerated at Level 3 of the School Services structure under the Catholic Employing Authorities Single Enterprise Collective Agreement – Religious Institute Schools of Queensland and will commence in July 2026, or as negotiated for the right applicant.
In this role you will work across the College campus improving and maintaining the garden and grounds, with the following duties representing a typical day:
- Maintainance and care of the existing College gardens and grounds, including general garden upkeep to ensure the grounds remain attractive and well presented.
- Develop and maintain the College's rose gardens, including seasonal pruning, deadheading, companion planting, pest management and ongoing rose care.
- Support the presentation and safety of the campus, including maintaining garden beds and pathways, removing green waste and keeping outdoor areas neat, tidy and welcoming.
- Monitor plant health, through irrigation and seasonal garden maintenance programs.
About you
The successful candidate will be a hands‑on and self‑motivated gardener who takes pride in creating and maintaining attractive outdoor spaces. With experience in horticulture, landscaping or garden maintenance, you have a robust knowledge of plant care and enjoy working outdoors in all seasons. Experience with rose care would be highly regarded. You are organised, proactive and able to work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team.
You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the College’s Student Protection Policy and processes. To be able to work alongside our students, you will need to hold a valid Working with Children Check Positive Paid Employee Notice (BlueCard).
