This pivotal leadership role oversees Cleaning, Wards person, Waste, Linen and Mail Room services, ensuring seamless operations across one of the region's largest healthcare facilities. Leading approximately 170 Operational Services employees, you will drive service excellence, champion innovation, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that directly support patient care, safety and experience.

About us:

Support Services is a large team with several departments that sits within the Operational Services Stream. Waste Services is just one of these departments. In the Waste department we are responsible for removing all the waste streams from the Cairns Hospital. Theses Waste Streams consist of General, Clinical, Cytotoxic, Confidential, Recycling, Co- Mingle, E-waste and Food.

About your role:

In this position you will…..

- Implement and monitor the organisation's quality standards, occupational health and safety policies,



procedures and programs.
- Manage approximately 170 staff members either directly or indirectly, in line with Queensland Health HR policies and standards.
- Provide leadership and direction to ensure the motivation of the Support Services team and to deliver services at a constantly high standard.
- Closely analyse the productivity, work performance and efficiency of Support Services staff.
