Our valued client are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Design Manager to join their growing business to work on Class 2 Residential projects. They are looking for someone who has come from a delivery background and really understands the full construction life cycle and is able to get the ground running in terms of design.

They are in a very strong position as a business with multiple recent projects wins.

Responsibilities

- Manage and oversee the pre-construction design activities across multiple construction projects
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure the project will run timely and cost-effective
- Review project specifications and contracts to identify design requirements and constraints
- Advise on project design schedules and budgets
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, contracts, and applicable regulations
- Advise on buildability and methodology
- Monitor project progress and update senior management on key milestones and potential issues
- Identify and resolve design-related issues and elevate issues to senior management as needed
- Ensure that project design records and documents are accurate and up-to-date
- Provide regular updates to senior management on project design status,



including potential risks and opportunities
- Manage the design process, including design development, design review, and design approval

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management or engineering
- 5 + years of experience in design management in the construction industry
- Experience working on Residential construction projects from $30m upwards
- MUST of come from a delivery background to be considered
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of construction project management tools and software
- Understanding of construction contracts and regulatory requirements
- Familiarity with building codes and standards
