Generator Constructions Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Sheet Metal Tradesman / Welder to join our team in Rocklea, Queensland. We have 2 Permanent or Casual positions offering a competitive salary and overtime. As a Sheet Metal Tradesman / Welder, you will play a vital role in the manufacturing and assembly of high-quality industrial soundproof generator enclosures and related equipment.
What you'll be doing
- Fabricate custom sheet metal components and products
- Operate a variety of welding equipment, including MIG and TIG welders.
- Measure, cut, bend, and form sheet metal parts using Pan-brake and Press.
- Assemble and install completed sheet metal components and products.
- Comply with all relevant health, safety, and quality control standards
What we're looking for
- Formal trade qualification in sheet metal fabrication or welding
- Hands‑on experience in a similar role, preferably in the trades or manufacturing industry
- Minimum of 3-5 years of sheet metal fabrication or welding experience is required
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics
- Skilled in the use of various welding techniques, hand tools, and power tools
- Candidates must be proficient in both MIG and TIG welding techniques
- Solid attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and problem‑solving skills
