About the Role
We are seeking a Production Engineer to join our team based in Henderson. This is fundamentally a production engineering role - but one where solid, hands-on PLC capability is essential to success, not optional.
You will work extensively with PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems as a core part of your day-to-day responsibilities - programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning control logic - alongside your broader production engineering duties across process improvement, downtime reduction, and equipment support.
If you're a production engineer who genuinely enjoys working with PLCs, and wants that to be a real part of the job rather than an occasional task, this role is built for you.
- Provide engineering support for production and maintenance activities to ensure maximum production
- Perform engineering analysis to reduce downtime and outages
- Evaluate current production activities and make recommendations for improvements
- Develop operating instructions and equipment specifications for production activities
- Manage and provide engineering support for industrial automation systems, including PLC, SCADA, and HMI programming, to maintain and improve production uptime while ensuring safe operation
- Read, interpret, and modify PLC ladder logic and function block programs to support process changes
- Use data from PLC/SCADA historian systems to support process improvement initiatives and root cause analysis on process upsets
- Investigate problems, analyse root causes, and derive resolutions
- Design and co-ordinate the installation of production equipment in the manufacturing environment
- Identify and lead process improvements in the operating performance of the plant
About You
To play a part in our continued expansion and success, we are seeking an experienced engineer with a strong background in production or process engineering within a manufacturing environment. You'll bring a hands-on, solutions-focused mindset and enjoy working closely with production and maintenance teams to deliver reliable outcomes.
You will have:
- A degree qualification in Engineering or a related discipline
- At least 2 years' experience in a similar role
- Strong working knowledge of PLC systems, including programming and troubleshooting (PLC/SCADA)
- Basic Microsoft Office skills, with an understanding of Minitab for data analysis
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Lean manufacturing experience in a high-volume production environment would be well-regarded.
Knowledge of composites production or related processes will be highly regarded.
