ISLPR Language Services (ILS) is seeking qualified and experienced English language teachers to join our Brisbane team as an Accredited ISLPR Tester. This role involves conducting high-stakes English language proficiency assessments for a range of candidates, including international students and overseas-trained teachers.
About ISLPR Language Services
ISLPR Language Services Pty Ltd (ILS) was founded and is directed by Dr David Ingram AM, the initiator and co-author of the ISLPR® (International Second Language Proficiency Ratings) scale and test.
We assess candidates’ real-life language ability for academic and professional purposes. The ISLPR® focuses on practical communication skills matched to each candidate’s background and needs.
Our clients include universities, professional registration authorities, and education departments across Australia.
About the Role
You will be trained and accreditedas an ISLPR Tester and will:
Conduct ISLPR® English proficiency interviews and tests (face-to-face and online)
Contribute to marking and maintaining testing records
Assist with developing and reviewing test materials
Provide administrative and testing support as required
This position is based in Mount Gravatt, QLD, with opportunities to work remotely and to travel interstate for scheduled testing sessions.
About You
To be eligible, you must:
Hold a degree in Education, Linguistics, or a related field, and
Be a qualified ESL teacher with either:
a TESOL major in an undergraduate teaching degree, or
a postgraduate qualification in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a similar field
Have a minimum of 3–4 years of ESL teaching experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite ( Word, SharePoint )
Prior experience in English language testing or assessment
Robust interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently while contributing to a small, collaborative team
Cultural sensitivity and professionalism when working with international candidates

Shortlisted applicants will complete a short written task or survey.
Selected candidates will be invited for an interview.
Successful applicants will undertake the ISLPR tester training and accreditation program in August.
Please note:
If you are not a native speaker of English, you must achieve ISLPR® 4+ in each macroskill on a recent ISLPR test taken at an accredited testing centre.
