CGC Recruitment are looking for a Leading Hand Carpenter to join a busy Northern Beaches Builder who have been running for over 10 years delivering new builds and renovations up to $3m.
With current projects already under construction and more due to start, they are looking for a leading hand carpenter to join the business who can deliver smaller projects within the business and then work alongside a site manager on the larger jobs.
The right candidate will need to have experience with delivering a project from start to finish and understand the full scope of the job. This role will not be just looking after carpenters.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of carpenters and apprentices.
- Read and interpret architectural and structural plans.
- Complete accurate set-outs for all stages of construction.
- Oversee and coordinate all carpentry works from frame through to lock-up and fit-off.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and building regulations.
- Coordinate subcontractors and deliveries to maintain project schedules.
- Identify and resolve on-site issues before they impact the program.
- Maintain a safe, organised, and professional work environment.
- Communicate effectively with Site Managers, clients, and other trades.

About You The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a Leading Hand Carpenter on high-end residential projects.
- Strong understanding of the full residential construction process from excavation through to practical completion or from start to finish renovations.
- Excellent knowledge of site set-outs, levels, and construction sequencing.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing a team.
- White Card and current driver's licence.
- Relevant trade qualifications in Carpentry.
