Reporting within the Student Services Team Leader, the Venue Operations Manager is responsible for the effective coordination and operation of Barker College's venues, ensuring spaces are safe, well-maintained and optimally utilised to support learning, cocurricular activities, performances, assemblies, sporting activities, community events and approved external hire.

This hands-on role requires strong operational leadership, stakeholder management and organisational capability, with responsibility for ensuring venue operations remain responsive, safe and effective both during and outside normal school hours.

Key Responsibilities Include

- Venue Operations - Coordinate the daily operation and readiness of allocated venues, ensuring spaces are appropriately set up (furniture, air conditioning, ICT/AV), presented and maintained in a safe and functional condition.
- Event & Booking Coordination - Support the life of the School through the Student Experience Office by coordinating event logistics and venue requirements.
- External Hire & Community Engagement - Administer approved external venue hire arrangements in accordance with School policies and established frameworks.
- Systems & Process Management - Maintain and optimise venue booking systems and associated processes to support efficient operations.
- Risk, Compliance & Safety - Ensure venue operations are conducted in accordance with WHS requirements and School policies.
- Stakeholder Collaboration - Work collaboratively with ICT, Facilities and other operational teams to ensure venues are fit for purpose and operationally ready.
- After-Hours Operations - Work in coordination with Security and designated after-hours staff to support evening, weekend and school holiday venue use. Supporting the school’s Promoting Positive Relationships guidelines as well as standards in relation to student wellbeing, dress and general bearing.

You are comfortable working in a flexible environment where hours may vary and include evenings, weekends and school holiday periods. Typical operating hours may range between 8:00am and 9:00pm, depending on event requirements.

Demonstrated experience in venue, event or facilities operations within a multi-use environment.

A strong understanding of student duty of care.

Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, visitors and other stakeholders.

Robust organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.

A sound understanding of WHS principles in an operational environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant operational systems.
