We are currently seeking a Mining Engineer to join our Wilpinjong Mine. Our Wilpinjong Mine is an open-cut mine located 58 kilometres northeast of Mudgee producing a high quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets.

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for short-term Load & Haul scheduling and design at our open cut mining operation. This role is critical in ensuring effective and safe execution of daily and weekly mine plans, aligning with medium and long-term strategies.

Duties will include:

- Actively participate in promoting site safety, environmental, health and quality of mining activities
- Develop and maintain short-term (daily to weekly) Load & Haul schedules to meet production targets
- Design and optimize haul roads, dump locations, and loading areas using mine planning software.
- Collaborate with operations, drill & blast, and geology teams to ensure alignment of plans and execution.
- Monitor and adjust schedules based on operational feedback, equipment availability, and changing conditions.
- Conduct regular pit inspections to validate designs and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Provide technical support to supervisors and operators regarding plan implementation and design intent.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in mine planning and operational efficiency.

About You:

- A degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Experience with Mine planning and Design software (exposure to Vulcan would be well regarded)
- Experience in open cut mining operations within the coal industry (experience outside of coal will be considered)
