About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Financial Accountant to join our team in Bundall, Queensland on a full-time basis. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our Finance department, supporting the accurate preparation and reporting of our financial statements whilst ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded and classified
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards, timely submission of monthly PAYG and quarterly BAS
- Manage and prepare weekly payroll and monthly payroll tax submission
- Process and code financial transactions, invoices and supporting documentation
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports and analyses for management and external accountant
- Maintain comprehensive financial records and supporting documentation
- Perform account reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
What we’re looking for
- Relevant qualification in accounting or finance (such as CPA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification, or currently working towards one)
- Proven experience in financial accounting and reporting within a similar role
- Strong proficiency with accounting software and financial reporting systems, Xero preferred
- Solid understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in all financial records
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant office applications
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with team members
