About the Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting across allocated entities. The role manages consolidated month‑end reporting, accounts payable, assets, treasury, foreign exchange contracts, insurance, and ensures data integrity across the ledgers. The position includes business partner responsibilities supporting the broader finance function across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger and financial transactions.





- Coordinate and complete month‑end close processes, including eliminations, consolidations, balance sheet reconciliations, journals, and accruals.

- Prepare and assist with financial reporting, including month‑end reporting and Board reporting requirements.

- Lead treasury function, including foreign currency management and variance analysis.

- Partner with operational teams to provide financial insights and recommendations to improve performance.

- Coordinate asset management, lease accounting, and insurance renewal across the BBD Group.

- Assist with external audits, income tax processes, and implementation of audit recommendations

- Support the annual budgeting process and finance improvement projects.

- Provide support and training the Assistant Accountant and backup across the accounting team as required.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline.

- CA or CPA qualification.

- 5–7 years' experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role with medium/large business experience including consolidation and eliminations

- Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of Australian accounting standards.

- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.

- High attention to detail and accuracy.

- Strong communication and leadership/management skills.

- Excellent time management and organisational abilities.

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.

- A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
