Our client is a leading owner, developer and long-term operator of renewable energy infrastructure with an established and growing portfolio across Australia.

With significant capital committed to the Australian market, the business continues to expand its utility-scale onshore wind pipeline and is seeking an experienced Development Director (Wind) to lead a portfolio of strategically important projects through development and into investment readiness.

This represents an opportunity to take ownership of some of Australia's most significant renewable energy developments, working alongside a highly experienced executive team within a well-funded, technically sophisticated organisation.

The Prospect

Reporting into the executive leadership team, the Development Director (Wind) will assume end-to-end accountability for a portfolio of large-scale onshore wind developments.

You’ll lead multidisciplinary teams across development, engineering, commercial, finance, stakeholder engagement and project management, ensuring projects are progressed safely, commercially and strategically towards Final Investment Decision (FID).

The position requires an experienced project leader capable of balancing technical, commercial and stakeholder priorities while providing clear governance and executive-level decision making throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the development of a portfolio of utility-scale onshore wind projects across Australia.
- Take overall accountability for project strategy, programme, budget,



governance and delivery outcomes.
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans covering schedule, commercial objectives, development milestones and key project risks.
- Lead multidisciplinary internal and external project teams across engineering, development, environmental approvals, commercial, finance and procurement.
- Drive project maturation through planning approvals, permitting, land access, grid connection and stakeholder engagement.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts and business cases while ensuring disciplined commercial decision making.
- Build robust relationships with landowners, government agencies, regulators, transmission network providers, consultants and delivery partners.
- Prepare executive-level reporting, presenting recommendations, project updates and key decisions to senior leadership.

About You

We're interested in speaking with experienced renewable energy leaders who can demonstrate:

- 10+ years' experience leading major infrastructure or renewable energy developments within Australia.
- Proven experience delivering complex onshore wind projects through mid and late-stage development.
- Strong understanding of planning approvals, environmental processes, land, grid connection and stakeholder management.
- Demonstrated capability leading large multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent commercial and financial acumen with experience managing business cases, project budgets and development programmes.
- Strong executive communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
