Kimberley College is seeking to appoint a Finance Manager
This role ensures the delivery of effective and effective business and financial services. The role is to be performed with high standards of service to internal and external stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Liaise with the auditor; prepare documentation for audit, preparation of end of year financial accounts for audit. Ensure all balance sheet accounts reconcile
- Oversee payroll process each fortnight. Authorise payroll for payment
- Monitor the expenditure for each project via a WIP account and provide the CFO with regular reports to ensure each project remains within budget, enter new works into the asset register and ensure depreciation rates match the expected life of the asset
- Preparation of monthly financial statements
- Authorisation of payments and corporate online payments
- Bank Reconciliations, transfer funds, manage cash flow, monitor grants
- Administer salary packaging arrangements
- Manage TASS chart of accounts and manage report templates. Create WIP accounts as deemed necessary
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
- Provide weekly cash flow forecast
- Maintain and reconcile the College asset register, including regular audit of assets and monitoring of write-offs
- Management of GL account responsibilities (as per CFO direction)
Compliance
- Assistance and preparation of Financial Questionnaire, State and Commonwealth Census, Monthly GST returns and FBT returns
- Ensure all accounting records are archived correctly and can be recalled if required
- Ensure the College meets its compliance obligations in respect to all areas of operation and responsibility, including ACNC, ASIC and ATO (Monthly BAS, FBT etc)
Education / Qualifications
- University Qualifications – Business / Commerce Degree
- CPA or CA qualifications advantageous but not essential
- Membership of Australian Professional Accounting Body (desirable)
- Demonstrated financial preparation and analysing skills
- Possess current driver’s license (desirable).
- Blue Card (Working with children)
Key Skills and Personal Attributes
- Sound financial acumen along with a demonstrated knowledge of accrual accounting concepts and use of financial software
- Well developed interpersonal communication skills – written, verbal and strong IT competencies
- A highly developed ability to lead and manage a diverse group of employees who provide essential services to parents, staff and students
- Experience in a similar role (2+ years)
- Mature and professional with a willingness to lead by example
- Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications
- Able and willing to listen and understand verbal and written instructions
- Organised and able to meet deadlines
- Flexible and able to reprioritise daily tasks to accommodate emergent requests
