Full-time Traffic Engineering Technologist position available with competitive salary. Work in a dynamic team in Silverwater, NSW 2128.

Nick Traffic Control Pty Ltd specialises in protected and efficient traffic control and traffic management solutions across Sydney. The company supports clients from traffic plan design and council submissions through site implementation, review and maintenance, with a strong focus on safety, compliance and service quality.

Responsibilities and Tasks

- Determine appropriate traffic signs, devices and pavement markings for new and existing roads, worksites and traffic management arrangements.
- Investigate traffic incidents and accident patterns, and recommend practical changes to roads, intersections or traffic control arrangements to improve safety for motorists, pedestrians and workers.
- Work closely with developers, builders, project managers and clients to assess the traffic impacts of construction and development activities and recommend measures to mitigate those impacts.
- Interpret and accurately set out traffic management schemes from Traffic Control Plans (TCPs), Traffic Management Plans (TMPs), Construction Traffic Management Plans (CTMPs) and Pedestrian Management Plans (PMPs).
- Complete toolbox talks at the start of shifts where applicable and communicate site-specific traffic risks, controls and work requirements to relevant personnel.
- Prepare site hazard assessments and implement suitable control measures in accordance with project requirements, workplace procedures and applicable safety obligations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and monitor traffic behaviour,



traffic flow and pedestrian movement to ensure safety and compliance are maintained at all times.
- Maintain Nick Traffic Control signage, traffic management devices and associated equipment in safe, serviceable and compliant condition.
- Comply with Nick Traffic Control procedures, site inductions, client requirements and all applicable rules, regulations and approved traffic management documentation.
- Accurately complete traffic receipts and job records, including times, signage and devices used, and ensure all variations or adjustments to approved traffic management plans are recorded and authorised.
- Provide technical guidance to traffic controllers, site teams and clients on traffic engineering and traffic management matters.
- Prepare clear technical reports, site findings, recommendations and supporting documentation for management, clients, councils and other relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills

- Relevant qualification.
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Traffic Engineering Technologist.
- Sound knowledge of traffic engineering principles, traffic control plans, traffic management plans and road safety practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical reporting skills.
- Ability to interpret plans, assess site risks and recommend practical traffic management solutions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, developers and site teams.

Salary

The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $75,000 - $85,000 p.a plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
