We are seeking a passionate Leisure and Lifestyle Lead to inspire and support our Lifestyle team at IBIS Care Blakehurst, delivering meaningful, person-centred programs that enhance the well-being, independence, and quality of life of our residents every day.

About the Role

In this role, you will lead and coordinate lifestyle and wellness programs that enhance residents’ quality of life, promoting engagement, social inclusion, dignity, and purpose. You will support residents to enjoy activities they love, maintain community and cultural connections, and experience a safe, inclusive environment.

You will also supervise and mentor a team of Leisure and Lifestyle Assistants, ensuring activities are meaningful and resident-focused, while contributing to care planning, documentation and aged care compliance. Your work will be guided by the principles of dignity, respect, privacy and informed choice.

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

- Foster strong relationship with residents based on the resident’s life story, preference and habit.




- Implement structured lifestyle programs and adapt to individual interest and abilities for both group activities and/or 1 on 1 activities.
- Assist residents with lifestyle experiences, including, but not limited to dining experience.
- Involved and make contribution towards residents’ care planning and assessment within scope of work.
- Report any identified changes in residents’ health and wellbeing to the authorised person.
- Contribute and suggest activities including, but not limited to, cultural and religious events.
- Assist in preparing and organising documentation and evidence for accreditation audits within lifestyle scope of work.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and policies to ensure the safe environment for all residents.
- Build respectful and collaborative working relationships with all team members.
- Supervise and support leisure and lifestyle team members on-site to ensure high performance and team cohesion.
- Monitor and assess staffing requirements to anticipate and respond to changes in workload and staffing availability.
- Coordinate and manage staff education programs, including mandatory training, clinical competencies and leadership development.




- Develop and maintain individualised learning plans for staff based on role requirements and performance needs.
- Support the onboarding and orientation of new staff, including buddy shifts and competency assessments.
- Serve as a point of contact for lifestyle and leisure staff queries regarding training, learning resources and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with management to identify skills gaps and recommend learning initiatives.
- Assist with implementing continuous improvement initiatives in staff development and education.

What We’re Looking For

- Certificate or Diploma in Aged Care or Leisure and Health, or a related field.
- Full Time working rights.
- At least 2 years experience in a similar role within aged care or community services with knowledge of aged care regulations.
- Strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate people.
- Solid understanding of the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and person-centred care.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience and passion for improving the lives of older people.
- Well developed leadership and staff management experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to changing needs.
- Ability to physically participate in and assist residents as needed.
