Registered Nurse Dermatology – Part-Time Permanent Position
Pymble Dermatology is a leading specialist dermatology practice on Sydney's Upper North Shore. As our practice continues to grow, we are seeking a highly motivated, compassionate, and experienced Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team on a part-time permanent basis.
This is an excellent prospect to work in a modern, fast-paced specialist practice alongside a team of experienced dermatologists and nurses, while developing your skills in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
About the Role
As a Registered Nurse at Pymble Dermatology, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our dermatologists in providing high-quality clinical services. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure outstanding patient experiences and clinical outcomes.
Selection Criteria
The successful applicant will have:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Current professional indemnity insurance and ongoing compliance with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
- Previous dermatology nursing experience will be highly regarded, although motivated nurses with experience in surgical, medical, or specialist practice are encouraged to apply.
- The ability to work independently and efficiently in a busy specialist practice.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate, patient-centred approach to care.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to learn.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with dermatologists and the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.
- Assist dermatologists with a wide range of procedures, including skin biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, minor surgical procedures, and wound management.
- Perform and monitor UVB phototherapy treatments in accordance with clinical protocols.
- Assist with Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) procedures.
- Prepare and perform patch testing, including patient education, application, removal, and documentation.
- Assist dermatologists in administering and monitoring biologic therapies.
- Capture, manage, and securely maintain clinical photographs for patient records.
- Provide patients and their families with education regarding treatments, wound care, medications, and post-procedure instructions.
- Conduct follow-up phone calls and communicate investigation results as directed by the treating dermatologist.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential electronic patient records.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, sterilisation, accreditation standards, and all relevant healthcare regulations.
- Perform instrument cleaning, sterilisation, and stock management in accordance with infection control guidelines.
- Complete daily opening and closing duties, clinical checklists, and quality assurance activities.
- Assist with ordering and maintaining clinical supplies and consumables.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient, and welcoming clinical environment.
