Senior Building Surveyor/Building Regulations Consultant
The Role
This role offers a diverse mix of commercial certification and consultancy work, providing exposure to complex, high-value projects across multiple sectors.This is an excellent opportunity for either a Registered Building Surveyor or an experienced skilled working towards registration who is ready to step into a senior-level position.As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will play a key role in delivering building certification and advisory services across commercial projects. You will work closely with developers, architects, builders and consultants to provide practical, solutions-focused compliance advice throughout the project lifecycle.
The role offers a strong balance of statutory certification responsibilities and consultancy-based advisory work.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake building certification services across commercial developments
- Assess and determine Construction Certificates, Complying Development Certificates and Occupation Certificates
- Provide BCA/NCC compliance advice during design and construction phases
- Interpret and apply relevant legislation, codes and standards
- Conduct site inspections and compliance assessments
- Liaise with clients, architects,
engineers and regulatory authorities
- Contribute to technical advisory reports and performance solution assessments
- Support project delivery from concept through to completion
About You
- Experience in building surveying, ideally within commercial projects
- Strong knowledge of the NCC/BCA and relevant NSW legislation
- Registered Building Surveyor (preferred but not essential)
- Alternatively, substantial industry experience with progression toward registration
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide practical, commercially aware advice
- High attention to detail and sound technical judgement
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders
