We're looking for an experienced Mechanical & Service Technician to join our growing service team in Penrith. This is a diverse and rewarding role that extends well beyond traditional workshop mechanics, providing exposure to one of Australia's most varied rental equipment fleets.
Working from our Penrith workshop and in the field, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of equipment including access equipment, material handling machinery, diesel lighting towers, traffic management equipment and our commercial vehicle fleet. The successful applicant will also be provided with a fully equipped company mechanic service van to carry out onsite servicing, preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs throughout Greater Sydney and surrounding regions.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs across our hire fleet.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults.
- Service and maintain:
- Scissor lifts
- Boom lifts
- Vertical lifts
- Forklifts
- Telehandlers
- Diesel lighting towers
- Portable generators and site equipment
- Carry out servicing and repairs to company utes, vans and light commercial vehicles.
- Respond to onsite breakdowns and emergency service call-outs using your company service vehicle.
- Complete pre-delivery inspections, safety inspections and equipment commissioning.
- Maintain accurate service records and workshop documentation.
- Assist in preparing equipment for hire to ensure presentation and reliability standards are maintained.
- Work closely with the operations team to minimise fleet downtime.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop and service vehicle.
- Deliver exceptional customer service when attending client sites.
Specialist Training & Career Development

This specialist training provides valuable skills that are highly sought after within the equipment rental and traffic industries and offers genuine long-term career progression.
What We're Looking For
- Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Plant Mechanic, Light Vehicle Mechanic or similar.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in equipment, plant or automotive servicing.
- Solid understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems and electrical diagnostics.
- Experience working on access equipment, forklifts,
telehandlers or construction equipment is highly regarded.
- Experience servicing light commercial vehicles is advantageous.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
- Ability to work independently while managing field service work.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence (MR licence advantageous).
- Forklift, EWP or Working at Heights licences are desirable, or willingness to obtain.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Pride in maintaining high presentation standards for both equipment and service vehicle.
