About Us:
At Ubank, we empower the digital generation to achieve financial success. Think of us as your daily money companion, offering a unified view of your finances with smart features and real-time insights. Save more, track spending, and achieve home ownership faster with Ubank.
The Why:
The Senior Platform Engineer is accountable for designing, building, and operating shared platform capabilities that accelerate safe delivery for feature squads across Ubank. This role leads end-to-end ownership within assigned focus areas spanning CI/CD and build systems, observability and reliability, and developer experience. The position treats internal engineering teams as customers and balances platform-as-product adoption within an APRA-regulated banking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain multi-stage pipelines-as-code patterns serving multiple squads with caching, parallelisation, and promotion workflows suited to regulated change.
- Partner with security and compliance stakeholders to place scanning, policy checks, and evidence generation steps without blocking legitimate delivery cadence.
- Establish opinionated golden pathways encoding Ubank engineering standards while preserving sensible escape hatches for genuinely exceptional cases.
- Engage feature squad tech leads to understand workflow friction, co-design improvements, and agree realistic adoption milestones backed by support.
- Represent platform constraints honestly while proposing pragmatic alternatives that preserve security, resilience, and compliance outcomes.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response with disciplined communication, scoped mitigation, and clean handovers protecting customer outcomes.
- Build and maintain runbooks, dashboards, and automation shortening incident timelines and reducing operational toil for responders across squads.
Your Experience:
- Demonstrated 5 to 8 years in software engineering, site reliability engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering with at least 2 years owning shared capabilities consumed by multiple teams from design through adoption.
- Demonstrated depth in at least one domain among CI/CD pipeline architecture, observability design, or developer tooling, plus working competence in the other domains.
- Demonstrated practical experience with cloud-native build and deployment patterns, infrastructure-as-code practices, and at least one mainstream backend language.
- Prior experience in a regulated or compliance-aware industry is highly desirable, including financial services, healthcare, government, or telecommunications.i>
