MC Yard Tug Driver | Night Shift | Casual to Permanent Opportunity
360 Personnel is seeking a reliable, safety-focused MC Yard Tug Driver to join their team on a casual-to-permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys keeping operations running smoothly, takes pride in yard organisation, and has a strong commitment to safety and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) compliance.
Roster & Hours
- 6:00 PM to 4:00 AM
- Rotating roster: 4 days on, 4 days off
- Overtime opportunities available
- Additional shifts may commence from 2:00 PM
About the Role
As the Yard Tug Driver, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and trailers throughout the yard while maintaining compliance with transport regulations and company safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate yard tug vehicles and manoeuvre trailers safely within the yard.
- Coordinate vehicle staging, parking, and dispatch activities.
- Monitor traffic flow and maintain a safe operating environment.
- Conduct basic vehicle and trailer inspections, including tyres, lights and load restraint equipment.
- Verify loads are prepared and restrained in accordance with company procedures and Load Restraint Guidelines.
- Monitor vehicle weights and load distribution.
- Ensure driver fatigue management and fitness-for-duty requirements are met.
- Identify, report and elevate safety or CoR risks.
- Liaise with Operations, Compliance, Fleet, Warehouse and Maintenance teams.
- Support and promote a strong "Safety Over Schedule" culture.
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
Current and valid MC (Multi Combination) Licence
- Previous heavy vehicle driving experience
- Yard Tug experience
- Experience within transport, logistics, dispatch or warehouse operations
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work effectively with drivers, loaders, supervisors and office staff
- Physically fit and capable of working in an active role involving significant walking and yard movement
- Robust commitment to safety, compliance and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening
- Willingness to participate in ongoing random drug and alcohol testing in line with company policy
