Our client is a large council who is seeking the services of a Program Manager for a 1 year contract, with a possibility of an extension.
Position purpose
Coordination of Council’s Section 7.11 Projects infrastructure delivery program from concept to commissioning of works.
Ensure deliverables and budgets are successfully met.
Report to Council’s Manager Section 7.11 Projects and work closely with Asset Design’s drainage and roads teams, along with Council’s Property, Legal, construction and development teams.
Qualifications and experience
Degree or post graduate qualification in civil engineering or related fields
In-depth experience of project planning and delivery experience, preferably gained in large, complex work environments
Demonstrated experience in civil drainage, road design, recreation design and construction
Proven experience in the delivery of complex projects, typically up to 5 years +
Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and negotiation
Demonstrated experience in leading teams to achieve outcomes
Demonstrated experience working in a diverse team setting and working effectively with support functions reporting to more than one stakeholder
Ability to respond to unpredictable risks and manage a number of simultaneous phases across multiple projects
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Senior Management experience and understanding of Risk Management Financial control and politics in a LG context.
Demonstrated solid working experience as a project administrator or coordinator in land development and/or infrastructure projects
Working Knowledge in MS Office software: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Duties
Manage and coordinate all activities of the allocated Program (Project Portfolio) team. This may be up to three (3) people.
Participate in Overall City Assets programming for resources management and Scheduling by understand the needs and impacts of the allocated Program
Management and coordination of all matters related to allocated Project Portfolio
Develop effective partnerships with stakeholders and delivery agents throughout projects including the identification and effective management of emerging risks
Participate in client and contractor meetings as required
Ensure the resolution of client/engineering/management issues
Provide regular program/project reviews and reporting to the Manager Section 7.11 Projects
Provide regular program/project reviews and reporting to the Manager
Maintain knowledge of current and emerging trends and practices within the industry which may impact Council projects
Undertake site inspections
Adhere to all Council’s Policies and Procedures
