We are seeking an experienced Dealership Accountant to join our finance/admin team, reporting directly to the Financial Controller. This role supports the financial operations of three dealership locations and is ideal for a commercially minded Accountant with strong automotive dealership experience who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

About the Role

Working closely with the Financial Controller and dealership leadership teams, you will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and providing commercial support across all three dealerships.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate monthly management accounts for three dealership locations.

Complete month-end reporting, reconciliations and financial analysis within required deadlines.

Assist with manufacturer financial reporting and compliance requirements.

Maintain general ledger integrity and oversee balance sheet reconciliations.

Monitor vehicle inventory, floorplan facilities and stock reconciliations.

Prepare BAS, FBT and other statutory reporting requirements.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.

Analyse departmental performance and provide meaningful financial insights to management.

Support dealership management with operational and financial decision-making.

Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards and internal controls.

Liaise with auditors, manufacturers and external stakeholders as required.

Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and efficiencies across the dealerships.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:





Previous experience as a Dealership Accountant or Assistant Accountant within an automotive dealership is essential.

Experience supporting multiple dealership operations is highly regarded.

Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.

CPA or CA qualification (or working towards) is desirable.

Strong knowledge of dealership accounting practices and manufacturer reporting.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with dealership management systems.

Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.

A proactive, collaborative approach with robust attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
