Hunter Recruitment Group is proud to partner with ADSSI to recruit a Senior Assessor for their highly respected Veterans' Home Care (VHC) Program.
If you're a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Allied Health professional looking for a change from frontline practice, this is an opportunity to apply your clinical judgement in a structured, office-based role that supports veterans and war widows to remain living independently at home.
Working alongside an experienced team, you'll review and approve care plans, ensure services align with Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) guidelines, and play an important role in maintaining the quality and integrity of the program.
About the Role
This is a specialist role suited to someone who enjoys working with detail, making informed decisions and managing a high volume of work. Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing and approving Veterans' Home Care assessments and care plans
- Applying DVA guidelines to support accurate and consistent decision making
- Liaising with assessors and approved service providers
- Managing approvals within required timeframes
- Maintaining accurate records across Excel and DVA systems
- Supporting continuous improvement and service quality
Following your onboarding, you'll also provide leave cover for Senior Assessors as your knowledge of the program develops.
About You
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys structured work, values accuracy and takes pride in making well informed decisions. You'll bring:
- A degree qualification in Nursing or Allied Health (such as OT, Social Work or Physiotherapy)
- A minimum of 2 years experience working within the aged care sector is essential
- Australian Citizenship (required by the DVA)
- Strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills
- Demonstrated strong leadership capability
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills
- High attention to detail and confidence working across multiple systems
- The ability to manage a high volume of work while maintaining accuracy
- A calm, collaborative approach and openness to feedback
Experience within My Aged Care, ACAT, ACAS, Veterans' Home Care, Home Care Packages or community aged care will be highly regarded.
