Mental Health Nurse, Help aHead Caringbah

Help aHead Caringbah is a person-centred service hub bringing together mental health, alcohol and other drug, physical health, and psychosocial supports. Join our multidisciplinary team delivering comprehensive assessments, clinical interventions, and recovery-focused care across South Sydney and the Sutherland Shire.

We are seeking a Credentialed Mental Health Nurse who is passionate about person-centred care and cooperative practice within an integrated health service.

About the role

As a Mental Health Nurse, you will provide specialist nursing expertise within a multidisciplinary team, delivering comprehensive mental health assessments and evidence-based interventions that support recovery and wellbeing. You will integrate physical health screening into mental health care and collaborate with primary care and other services.

This role is a part-time 30 hours/week, 12-month fixed term position (to 30 June 2027) with potential extension.

The service operates Monday-Friday, with some extended hours up to 7pm on two days per week.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver brief, evidence-based mental health nursing interventions (individual and group)
- Contribute to recovery-focused wellbeing plans
- Integrate physical health screening and monitoring into care

Skills & Experience

You will have:

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1), Credentialed Mental Health Nurse status with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (or application in progress)
- Experience conducting mental health assessments and collaborative care planning
- Demonstrated ability to deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions
- Understanding of the biological, psychological and social determinants of mental health
