FRY is seeking an experienced Architect or Senior Architect to join our creative architecture and interiors team. This is a full-time position (Part-time may be considered for the right applicant) based in Bayside, Melbourne offering the opportunity to work across range of project typologies including Hotel, Hospitality, Residential and Multi-Residential. Ideally, you will also have a keen understanding and interest in property development projects.
As an Architect or Senior Architect, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality design solutions, leading project development from concept through to completion, and contributing to the strategic direction of our architectural practice. This is a key role for FRY's future goals and comes with growth opportunities.
What you'll be doing:
Developing architectural concepts and design strategies that respond to client briefs and project requirements
Producing detailed design documentation, technical drawings and specifications for construction
Managing project timelines, budgets and stakeholder/consultant communications to ensure successful delivery
Conducting development feasibility studies
Presenting design proposals to clients and incorporating feedback into refined solutions
Ensuring all designs comply with relevant building codes, planning regulations and sustainability standards
Mentoring and supporting junior team members (for Senior Architect level)
Contributing to business development and pursuing new project opportunities
What we're looking for:
Minimum of 5+ years experience post registration (or equivalent for Senior Architect level with 8+ years)
Engrained local Melbourne experience and qualified networks
Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD as well as SketchUp.
Strong technical knowledge of construction methods and material specifications
Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate design concepts to clients and stakeholders
Project management experience and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Knowledge of planning and building regulations
Leadership and mentoring capability (desirable for Senior Architect candidates)
