Maintenance Fitter -Manufacturing Chipping Norton

Our client is a leader across manufacturing, distribution and retail, home building, and major construction and infrastructure projects. With a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and operational excellence, they are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join their manufacturing team based in Chipping Nortonfacility

About the Role

This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation. You will play a key role in minimising downtime, supporting production performance, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Working Hours & Pay

- Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:00pm
- Overtime required as needed
- Weekend work required when necessary (e.g. shutdown work)
- $51.34 per hour + applicable overtime rates

Key Responsibilities

- Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant and equipment
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs
- Replace or fabricate components as required
- Conduct inspections and servicing to prevent failures
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns
- Assist with tooling changes and production line start-ups




- Participate in shift changeovers
- Maintain accurate maintenance records
- Monitor and manage maintenance consumables and spare parts
- Promote and uphold a robust safety culture

Skills and Experience

Mandatory Requirements:

- Mechanical Fitting Trade Qualification (MERSITAB or equivalent)
- Experience with Permit to Work systems
- Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) knowledge
- High Risk Forklift Licence

Highly Regarded:

- Restricted Electrical Licence
- Experience in manufacturing, extrusion, or automation environments
- PVC granulation or mixing experience
- High Risk Bridge and Gantry Crane Licence
- High Risk EWP Licence
- Experience using ERP systems (JDE, MEX or similar)

- Self-motivated and proactive
- Sound written, verbal, and basic computer skills
