The Role
Reporting to the Events Lead and based
in Windsor NSW, the primary purpose of this role is to assist in the delivery
of civic and community events, community engagement programs, administering
Council’s Event Strategy and Council’s Event Sponsorship Program and the
assistance with general public relations, community liaison and media relations
including managing a range of communication programs relating to events within
the Corporate Communications and Events Branch. There is a physical aspect to
both positions which will include set up and pack down for events.
About You
You
will be self-motivated and driven to deliver results in a quick paced work
environment. You are passionate about community and general public relations. You will be eager to deliver
exceptional experiences to the community whilst being an ambassador for
Hawkesbury City Council. You have exceptional communication skills and be
physically fit to lift and move equipment in order to perform therequirements
of the position.
- Experience in the delivery of civic and
community events
- Understanding of event related legal,
contractual and risk management issues
- Experience in the delivery of event policy and
procedures related to Local Government
Knowledge of social media platforms to engage
and connect with target audiences
- Experience working with volunteers, voluntary
committees and community organisations
- Excellent verbal and written communication
skills
- The right to live and work in Australia
- Class C Drivers Licence
- WHS General Construction Work in NSW
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Successful applicants will be required to
undergo background (police) checks and medical declaration
- Tertiary qualifications in Events Management,
Communications, Public Relations or a related field
- First Aid/ CPR Certificate
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Licence
