Centennial Smiles is seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical / Dental Assistant to join our team in Randwick, NSW. This is a full-time position OR Casual that plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our dental professionals.
The working week is four days 7.30 am to 5.30 pm with breaks. Days to be decided with the right applicant
As a Clinical Dental Assistant, you will be instrumental in ensuring smooth clinical operations, maintaining high standards of sterilization and infection control, and creating a welcoming environment for our patients. This position is essential to the success of our practice and directly impacts the quality of care our patients receive.
Key responsibilities
- Assisting dentists during clinical procedures, including chairside support and instrument passing
- Preparing treatment rooms, sterilising instruments and ensuring infection control protocols are strictly followed
- Providing patient education on oral hygiene and post‑treatment care
- Managing patient flow and appointment scheduling to optimise clinic efficiency
- Monitoring and restocking clinical supplies and materials
- Greeting patients, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns
- Maintaining a clean and organised clinical environment
- Supporting the dental team with administrative tasks as required
What we’re looking for
- A recognized Dental Assistant qualification or equivalent certification
- Current or willingness to obtain First Aid and CPR certification
- Solid knowledge of dental procedures, terminology and clinical protocols
- Proficiency in dental radiography techniques and radiation safety
- Excellent understanding of infection control, sterilisation procedures and workplace health and safety standards
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
- Outstanding communication skills and a genuine commitment to patient care
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team whilst maintaining professional standards
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all clinical and administrative duties
- Previous experience in a dental practice is highly desirable
- Experience with dental practice management software is advantageous
